Racing Incident Report

On jumping, from wide barriers, ENGINEERING WONDER, TIGER RIDGE and EASY were taken back. DRAGON EYE began awkwardly. At the 900 Metres, CLASSIC NAVIGATOR was tightened for room inside LONGWAH RISING which when racing keenly shifted in while being steadied away from the heels of OCEAN WIDE (M Du Plessis) which shifted in when not properly clear. M Du Plessis was told to exercise greater care. Making the turn at the 600 Metres, CONFUCIUS CLASSIC bumped the running rail and became unbalanced, then shortly afterwards was steadied away from the heels of SUPER GENERAL which got its head on the side and shifted in away from EASY. At the 200 Metres, DRAGON EYE, which had been experiencing some difficulty obtaining clear running, was steadied and shifted to the inside of CLASSIC NAVIGATOR to go forward. After the 200 Metres, EASY was steadied and shifted out away from the heels of K-JACK. M Chadwick (K-JACK) explained the intention had been to go forward on his mount in the early stages, if it were able to lead, do so; if not, endeavour to obtain a handy position with cover. He said due to the early speed in the race K-JACK was not able to lead, as a result he endeavoured to obtain a position with cover slightly in front of midfield. He said K-JACK was not able to obtain cover and therefore travelled wide throughout the race. OCEAN WIDE and DRAGON EYE were sent for sampling. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that EASY had lost its left front plate.
