Racing Incident Report

RED RULER was slow to begin. In the middle stages, DARPANA proved difficult to settle. Near the 150 Metres, DANABAA shifted in and became unbalanced. Passing the 100 Metres, TREASURE RAIDERS was steadied away from the heels of FULL BLESSINGS which shifted out after initially shifting in and inconveniencing WIN-A-LOT. Throughout the race, FULL BLESSINGS travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, Y T Cheng stated that he had been instructed not to make too much use of CLASSA SUPREME in the early stages and to have the horse travel in 3rd or 4th position if possible. When questioned, B Prebble stated that he placed POWER AND GOLD under pressure on straightening and the horse responded well. He said near the 100 Metres POWER AND GOLD commenced to shift in slightly and SOLAR UP, which was racing to his inside, shifted out, therefore he stopped riding POWER AND GOLD momentarily as he felt that SOLAR UP may continue to shift out. He said that when this did not happen, he recommenced riding POWER AND GOLD out with the whip, however, the horse finished off the race only fairly. When questioned, O Doleuze (WIN-A-LOT) said that prior to the race he anticipated that his mount would be able to cross FULL BLESSINGS and obtain a position in midfield or slightly in front of midfield. He said shortly after the start WIN-A-LOT was bumped on a number of occasions by FULL BLESSINGS which shifted out and then passing the 1100 Metres was steadied away from the heels of FULL BLESSINGS. He said WIN-A-LOT then travelled satisfactorily until the Home Turn at which time the horse was not able to sprint with the field. He said he placed WIN-A-LOT under pressure in the Straight, however, the horse was disappointing in that it failed to respond to his riding as he thought it would. He did say that when WIN-A-LOT has been successful, the horse has had a trouble-free run throughout the race and, in his opinion, WIN-A-LOT did not appreciate being bumped on a number of occasions in the early stages of tonight’s race. A veterinary inspection of WIN-A-LOT after the race did not show any significant findings. A veterinary inspection of TREASURE RAIDERS after the race including an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, TREASURE RAIDERS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. WIN-A-LOT, DANABAA and SOLAR UP were sent for sampling.<12/11/2009 Additional Veterinary Report> TREASURE RAIDERS, which performed poorly, was examined by Veterinary Officer. He said at that time an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse’s trachea. TREASURE RAIDERS was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer P O’Sullivan this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to be lame in its left front leg. As previously advised, TREASURE RAIDERS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination before being allowed to race again.
