Racing Incident Report

GRAND GENERAL began awkwardly and shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of DRAGON BOY which shifted out. Approaching the winning post on the first occasion, GRAND GENERAL was awkwardly placed inside HEALTHY CONTENDER which at this time was racing tight inside HAPPY CHA CHA which, after initially having drawn to the outside of LUCKY AMICI, improved its position to be racing inside the heels of that horse which at this time also shifted in slightly. After racing tight inside HEALTHY CONTENDER, GRAND GENERAL lost its position when HEALTHY CONTENDER shifted further in and away from HAPPY CHA CHA. In the circumstances, no action was taken. Approaching the 800 Metres, ICE FIRE was left racing wide and without cover. After the race, B Prebble reported that FRAMES DEPOT travelled well until near the 500 Metres at which point it came under pressure. He said after this FRAMES DEPOT did not respond to his riding and weakened over the concluding stages. A veterinary inspection of FRAMES DEPOT after the race did not show any significant findings. HEALTHY CONTENDER, HAPPY CHA CHA and ICE FIRE were sent for sampling.
