Racing Incident Report

PAPAS was withdrawn on 11.1.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter KINGSTON ELITE (W M Lai). Before being allowed to race again, PAPAS will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After being loaded, FORTUNE PARTNER put its left hind leg up on the barrier platform. FORTUNE PARTNER then became unbalanced and got down in its stall. FORTUNE PARTNER was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion the horse was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, the Stewards ordered the withdrawal of FORTUNE PARTNER. SURFER BOY, which was in the adjourning stall, was also removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse was suitable to race. Before being allowed to race again, FORTUNE PARTNER will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. At the start, HOME WITH GLORY, which was being steadied in order to be taken across behind runners, became unbalanced when bumped on the hindquarters by PINOT NOIR which shifted out. After the 800 Metres, SURFER BOY was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 700 Metres, YOUNG TURBO proved difficult to settle and shifted out when being checked away from the heels of MOUNT SURPLUS, resulting in KINGSTON ELITE being bumped on the hindquarters and becoming unbalanced. Making the turn after the 600 Metres, YOUNG TURBO momentarily raced in restricted room inside KINGSTON ELITE. Near the 50 Metres, COUNTRY MAGIC lost its running when crowded for room between YOUNG TURBO (D Whyte) which shifted out and AMAZING SKY which was taken in by DIAMOND RAINBOW (O Doleuze) which got its head on the side and shifted in. Both D Whyte and O Doleuze were advised to ensure that they make every endeavour to keep their mounts on a straight course in future. YOUNG TURBO and DIAMOND RAINBOW were sent for sampling.
