Racing Incident Report

GREEN GLORY was withdrawn on 31.5.11 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (colic). Before being allowed to race again, GREEN GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Whilst in the saddling stalls, it was noted that SUNNY SMILES had an overreached wound to its left front leg. SUNNY SMILES was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race. Shortly after the start, OSCAR PRINCE was checked when crowded for room between SUNNY SMILES and PINOT NOIR which shifted out after being bumped by SUPER STRIKE which, after shifting out of its own accord, was then taken out by FAIRY DRAGON. Near the 1900 Metres, PINOT NOIR got its head up when being checked away from the heels of LIGHTNING MOUNT. For some distance after this, PINOT NOIR proved difficult to settle and then near the 1000 Metres got its head up when being checked away from the heels of LIGHTNING MOUNT. C K Tong (PINOT NOIR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of MASTER DREAMER, causing that horse to be hampered and losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled and in turn to be taken out onto HEALTHY CONTENDER which was checked. OSCAR PRINCE, which was following HEALTHY CONTENDER, was checked in consequence. C K Tong was suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Thursday, 16 June 2011 on which day he may resume race riding (3 Hong Kong racedays). The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Sha Tin racemeeting on Sunday, 5 June 2011. Passing the 250 Metres, WESTERN STAR was shifted in away from the heels of FAIRY DRAGON which was giving ground. MASTER DREAMER and SUPER STRIKE were sent for sampling.
