Racing Incident Report

As the start was effected, FORTUNE SIX lifted its front feet off the ground and was slow to begin and then when being shifted across behind runners shortly after the start was steadied away from the heels of HAPPY SCORE. When being steadied shortly after the start, SOHNA got its head up on a number of occasions. LUCKY CHEVALIER was bumped on the hindquarters shortly after the start by RACING SPORT which was taken out by TELECOM CHARGER which in turn was taken out by SWEETIE MUSIC. When being steadied approaching and passing the 1200 Metres to allow outside runners to cross, SWEETIE MUSIC proved difficult to settle. Near the 700 Metres, TELECOM CHARGER was steadied away from the heels of CONFUCIUS CLASSIC which itself was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LUCKY CHEVALIER. Throughout the race, ALP’S GLORY travelled wide and without cover. When questioned, B Doyle stated that prior to the race it had been hoped that KING ON EARTH would be able to obtain a position behind the favourite in the race, FASTPLUS MASTER. He said in the early stages he shifted across with that horse and after the 1200 Metres was racing outside and behind FASTPLUS MASTER. He said as it was available to FASTPLUS MASTER to shift across closer to the fence, he anticipated that the rider of that horse would do so and he would shift across with FASTPLUS MASTER and hopefully obtain cover behind that horse. He said however that FASTPLUS MASTER continued to race wide and when he became aware that FASTPLUS MASTER was not going to shift in, KING ON EARTH commenced to over-race and he was not able to position KING ON EARTH behind FASTPLUS MASTER. He said because of this KING ON EARTH was left racing wide and making the first turn after the 900 Metres was left without cover. He added when this occurred KING ON EARTH would not settle and proved difficult to manage. B Doyle was advised that his explanation would be reported, however, he must wherever possible make every effort to prevent his mounts from covering unnecessary ground. FASTPLUS MASTER and HAPPY SCORE were sent for sampling.
