Racing Incident Report

GORGEOUS RULER shifted out at the start and bumped DANESOUTH. GREEN GLORY was slow to begin. From wide barriers, FOREST FOUNTAIN and ALICE TOO were taken across behind runners shortly after the start. Near the 1400 Metres, DANESOUTH was steadied away from the heels of FULL HOUSE (G Cheyne) which shifted in when not properly clear. GREEN GLORY, which was following, commenced to over-race and had to be checked away from the heels of DANESOUTH. ALICE TOO, which was following, was inconvenienced. G Cheyne was reprimanded and advised to ensure he is sufficiently clear when shifting ground in future. In the early stages, CARISSIMA travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of CARISSIMA, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, CARISSIMA will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. At the 800 Metres, RAIN OF THUNDER was checked away from the heels of GREEN GLORY and shifted out, resulting in FOREST FOUNTAIN being taken wider. Also at the 800 Metres, ALICE TOO was checked away from the heels of HUMONGUS. HUMONGUS had difficulty obtaining clear running rounding the Home Turn and in the early part of the Straight. Approaching the 200 Metres, HUMONGUS was shifted in after being disappointed for running between FULL HOUSE and TREASURE GLITTER. Over the final 200 Metres, FOREST FOUNTAIN got its head on the side and hung in and over the concluding stages proved difficult to ride. Near the 150 Metres, CLASSA was awkwardly placed close to the heels of MR SPEEDY. B Doyle (DANESOUTH) was warned for using the whip in the forehand manner down the horse’s shoulder on a number of occasions in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of TREASURE GLITTER and GREEN GLORY after the race did not show any significant findings. HUMONGUS and RAIN OF THUNDER were sent for sampling.
<21/10/2011 Additional Veterinary Report>GREEN GLORY, which performed poorly, was examined by the Executive Manager, Regulatory Veterinary & International Liaison. He said at that time there were no significant findings. GREEN GLORY was again examined by the Veterinary Officer at the stables of Trainer A S Cruz this morning. He said at this time he noted the horse to have a swollen and sore right front cannon. Before being allowed to race again, GREEN GLORY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
