Racing Incident Report

WINNER SMART, which was fractious in the barriers, bounded in the air at the start, resulting in WINNER SMART losing a considerable amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, WINNER SMART will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test. OVERNIGHT SUCCESS was slow to begin. When being taken across behind runners shortly after the start, from the outside barrier, HAPPY CHAMPION got its head up on a number of occasions. Approaching the 800 Metres, HAPPY BALL was steadied away from the heels of HUGE PROFIT which shifted in after being awkwardly placed inside the heels of PILLOWIN. Approaching the 600 Metres, LUCKY RED commenced to over-race and got its head up when being steadied away from the heels of ASSURE. After this, LUCKY RED was awkwardly placed close to the heels of ASSURE. HUGE PROFIT, which was racing behind LUCKY RED, was steadied in consequence. After the 600 Metres, LUCKY TURBO was steadied away from the heels of SECRET OF WINNING. Also after the 600 Metres, PILLOWIN was left racing wide and without cover. A veterinary inspection of HUGE PROFIT after the race revealed that the horse had bled from both nostrils. After the race, an endoscopic examination was conducted on PILLOWIN at the request of Trainer A T Millard. The Veterinary Surgeon said this examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Before being allowed to race again, PILLOWIN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. HUGE PROFIT, LUCKY TURBO and SECRET OF WINNING were sent for sampling.
