Racing Incident Report

TAKNAM was slow to begin. Approaching the 1000 Metres, SHIFACHI TRADITION was left racing wide and without cover. Near the 250 Metres, REGENCY WINNER was shifted out away from the heels of HO HO LIFE to improve into a tight run between that horse and FORTUNE WINNER. After the 200 Metres, TRES MAGNIFIQUE, which got its head on the side and hung in, was steadied away from the heels of TAKNAM which shifted out slightly. Near the 150 Metres, REGENCY WINNER was severely checked when crowded for room between HO HO LIFE (T Angland) and FORTUNE WINNER (K C Leung), both of which shifted slight ground. When REGENCY WINNER was severely checked, it made heavy contact with FORTUNE WINNER, resulting in that horse also becoming unbalanced. T Angland and K C Leung were advised that whilst their shifts, taken in isolation, were not significant, nonetheless they had each contributed to REGENCY WINNER having to be severely checked and they were further advised that in similar circumstances they must make every endeavour to keep their mounts on a straight course. A veterinary inspection of REGENCY WINNER after the race did not reveal any significant findings other than a minor cut to the right hind gaskin. Before being allowed to race again, REGENCY WINNER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that INDIGO WAY had lost its left front plate. BANKSTERS BONUS and INDIGO WAY were sent for sampling.
