Racing Incident Report

On arrival at the Start, G Mossé, the rider of THE ONLY KID, reported that his mount coughed on a number of occasions when proceeding to the barriers. THE ONLY KID was examined by the Veterinary Officer who, after the necessary consultations, advised that the horse was suitable to race. After the race, THE ONLY KID, which was proving fractious, was initially unable to be scoped, however, a further endoscopic examination conducted on the horse a short time later showed a substantial amount of blood in its trachea. Before being allowed to race again, THE ONLY KID will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
PANTHER RUN and WIN IT bumped at the start.
LITTLE MEN was slow to begin.
After the 1200 Metres, WIN IT was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LITTLE MEN which itself was racing close to the heels of LORD DRAGON.
After the 1000 Metres, JUN JU was left racing wide and without cover.
Approaching the 200 Metres, PACKING DE LAGO was shifted out away from the heels of CHAMPION MOUNT which was giving ground.
Passing the 200 Metres, THANKSGIVING was struck on the nose by the whip of C W Wong (JUN JU). After this, THANKSGIVING was awkwardly placed inside JUN JU which shifted in under pressure.
Near the 150 Metres, PANTHER RUN and THE ONLY KID raced tight.
Over the final 50 Metres, GLORY OF INDIA was unable to obtain clear running behind FORZA which was giving ground. Because of this, GLORY OF INDIA was not ridden out to the end of the race.
After the race, K C Leung (SURE CHAMP) reported that his saddle initially shifted to the side near the 400 Metres. He said as he attempted to correct its position, the saddle then shifted back appreciably on the horse which placed him at a significant disadvantage for the remainder of the race, particularly when held up for clear running for some distance after the 200 Metres. He said because of the manner in which the saddle had shifted backwards, he was not able to ride the horse back to the scale after the race.
LITTLE MEN and THE FAST LANE were sent for sampling.
