Racing Incident Report

HOXO was withdrawn on 25.12.13 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter FULL OF FUN (H W Lai). Before being allowed to race again, HOXO will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
TRAVEL SMART began awkwardly and shortly after the start raced tight between FULL OF FUN and HIGH RETURN.
BEAUTY KING and RISING POWER were crowded for room on jumping between READY TO CELEBRATE which became unbalanced after being bumped on the hindquarters by BEAUTY KING and EVERSPRING which shifted in abruptly. After this, from the outside barrier, EVERSPRING was taken across behind runners.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, FULL OF FUN got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of READY TO CELEBRATE.
Making the turn near the 1100 Metres, HIGH RETURN got its head on the side and was awkwardly placed inside the heels of READY TO CELEBRATE. HIGH RETURN then raced with its head on the side for some distance after this.
EVERSPRING was badly held up for clear running from shortly after entering the Straight until passing the 150 Metres.
In the early part of the Straight, EXPEDITE got its head on the side, hung in and was awkwardly placed close to the heels of TRAVEL SMART.
Also in the early part of the Straight, WINNING MASCOT had difficulty obtaining clear running when attempting to obtain a tight run between RISING POWER which shifted out marginally when weakening and TRAVEL SMART. Then approaching the 100 Metres, WINNING MASCOT was disappointed for running between SPEEDYGONZALEZ and TRAVEL SMART and because of this was not able to be fully tested.
A veterinary inspection of RISING POWER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
WINNING MASCOT, PLAIN RED BANNER and READY TO CELEBRATE were sent for sampling.
