Racing Incident Report

PEPPERMINT was slow to begin and then shortly after the start was crowded for room between TOP ACT which began only fairly and PEARL STAR which shifted in.
From a wide barrier, HEY CHEERS was taken across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1400 Metres, LUCKY BOLE was hampered when carried in by RAZOR QUEST (H Bowman) which shifted in. H Bowman was reprimanded.
Near the 1200 Metres, SNOW SLIDER shifted in when awkwardly placed close to the heels of COOL BEAN after improving quickly to the inside of that horse. PEARL STAR, which was following SNOW SLIDER, shifted in away from the heels of that horse, resulting in TOP ACT being crowded for room between PEARL STAR and HO WONGCHOY. PEPPERMINT, which was following, was hampered in consequence.
Also near the 1200 Metres, HO WONGCHOY was checked when crowded for room inside FLYING IN which got its head on the side and shifted in away from SNOW SLIDER. As the Stewards formed the view that there was no rider error involved in this incident, no further action was taken.
Near the 650 Metres, PEPPERMINT was checked away from the heels of HEY CHEERS and in doing so shifted in, resulting in TOP ACT being crowded for room.
Approaching the 200 Metres, PEARL STAR was held up for clear running when shifting to the outside of HAPPY MOMENTS which was giving ground.
Throughout the race, COOL BEAN travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. A veterinary inspection of COOL BEAN immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, COOL BEAN will be required to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
The performance of HO WONGCHOY, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, HO WONGCHOY will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in an official barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of PEARL STAR immediately following the race revealed the horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, PEARL STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
A veterinary inspection of PEPPERMINT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
TOP ACT, HEART WOOD and FLYING IN were sent for sampling.
