Racing Incident Report

Whilst in the saddling stalls, HONG KONG FAT had its left front plate refitted. HONG KONG FAT was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was suitable to race.
STREET CAT was slow to begin.
From the outside barrier, ALL MY BENEFIT was taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
Despite being ridden along in the early stages, PUBLIC FIGURE failed to muster speed.
Approaching the 1400 Metres, DANESOUTH was momentarily steadied away from the heels of AMBITIOUS TREASURE.
Passing the 1400 Metres, GOOD TIMES ROLL and SPLENDID GUY, which was proving difficult to settle, were crowded for room inside HONG KONG FAT which got its head on the side and shifted in despite the efforts of its rider. A short distance later, SPLENDID GUY was crowded for room between HONG KONG FAT which continued to lay in and GOOD TIMES ROLL which shifted out after brushing the running rail and becoming unbalanced.
After the 1100 Metres, TOP POWER was left racing wide and without cover.
At the 750 Metres, SUPER TIGER got its head up when proving difficult to settle and being checked away from the heels of PUBLIC FIGURE.
After the 500 Metres, GOOD TIMES ROLL was steadied after attempting to improve inside DANESOUTH where there was insufficient room.
Also after the 500 Metres, STREET CAT and HONG KONG FAT bumped on a number of occasions due to HONG KONG FAT shifting in slightly and STREET CAT attempting to shift out to obtain clear running.
After the 400 Metres, GOOD TIMES ROLL was disappointed for running between DANESOUTH which was giving ground and STREET CAT which shifted in to obtain clear running.
Near the 250 Metres, GOLDMEN Y Y was crowded for room between GOOD TIMES ROLL which became unbalanced after being bumped by GOLDMEN Y Y and HONG KONG FAT which shifted in when giving ground.
Near the 150 Metres, GOOD TIMES ROLL was awkwardly placed close to the heels of STREET CAT.
Close to the finishing line, GOOD TIMES ROLL was shifted out away from behind AMBITIOUS TREASURE after being awkwardly placed close to the heels of that horse.
When questioned, T Angland stated that he could not offer any reason for the disappointing performance of HONG KONG FAT. He said in the early stages and again in the Straight HONG KONG FAT lay in and at times proved difficult to ride. He said however HONG KONG FAT travelled well in the early and middle stages despite being bumped by STREET CAT rounding the Home Turn and continued to travel well until placed under pressure at the entrance to the Straight. He added HONG KONG FAT did not respond to his riding and was disappointing in the manner in which it gave ground in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of HONG KONG FAT immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
GOOD TIMES ROLL, TELECOM PRINCE and AMBITIOUS TREASURE were sent for sampling.
