Racing Incident Report
CARTOON FAY FAY was withdrawn on 26.4.14 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame left fore). Before being allowed to race again, CARTOON FAY FAY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
ADMIRAL LORD began awkwardly.
From the outside barriers, LUCKY OMENS and WRATH OF FIRE were taken across behind runners shortly after the start.
After the 1600 Metres, TOWERING STORM became unbalanced and lost ground when crowded for room between AGIAAL which shifted out and GIGGLES FOREVER which was taken in by JAEGER BOMB. After this, GIGGLES FOREVER was awkwardly placed close to the heels of JAEGER BOMB.
After the 1200 Metres, TOWERING STORM was left racing wide and without cover.
Near the 600 Metres, AGIAAL was awkwardly placed outside the heels of JAEGER BOMB when TOWERING STORM improved quickly around AGIAAL.
D Whyte (GIGGLES FOREVER) dropped his whip near the 300 Metres.
For some distance passing the 200 Metres, MEDALLIST raced in restricted room between JAEGER BOMB and TOWERING STORM which got its head on the side and lay in under pressure. When TOWERING STORM was shifted out to relieve the tightening to MEDALLIST near the 150 Metres, REAL GENEROUS was crowded for room between that horse and AMBASSADORSHIP. Then passing the 50 Metres, REAL GENEROUS was checked when unable to maintain its position between AMBASSADORSHIP and TOWERING STORM which shifted out away from MEDALLIST which at this time got its head on the side and shifted out. As the Stewards were satisfied that there was no rider error involved in this incident, no further action was taken.
In the Straight, LUCKY OMENS got its head on the side and lay in.
A veterinary inspection of GIGGLES FOREVER immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its right front leg. Before being allowed to race again, GIGGLES FOREVER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
REAL GENEROUS, ADMIRAL LORD and AMBASSADORSHIP were sent for sampling.
<28/4/2014 Additional Veterinary Report>The Veterinary Officer reported that ELECTRONIC FORTUNE was lame in its left front leg on the morning after racing. Before being allowed to race again, ELECTRONIC FORTUNE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
