Racing Incident Report

MANFUL STAR was withdrawn on 29.1.19 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (lame right fore) and was replaced by Standby Declared Starter DRAGON REGIMENT (M L Yeung). Before being allowed to race again, MANFUL STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
After being placed in the barriers, PERFECT TO PLAY reared on one occasion before rearing again and getting is left front leg up behind the overhead structure. PERFECT TO PLAY then got down and became cast under the front gates. When PERFECT TO PLAY was cast, that horse kicked out repeatedly into the stall occupied by MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR, causing that horse to also become very fractious. PERFECT TO PLAY was removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said in his opinion it was not suitable to race. MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR was also removed from the barriers and examined by the Veterinary Officer who said the horse had blood at the left nostril and had a minor cut to the inside of the right hind leg and accordingly was not suitable to race. Acting on this advice, PERFECT TO PLAY and MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR were both withdrawn by order of the Stewards. Before being allowed to race again, PERFECT TO PLAY, which has a record of poor barrier manners, will be required to undergo a series of consecutive barrier trials and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. Before being allowed to race again, MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. After the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that PERFECT TO PLAY had sustained a minor laceration to the outside of the left front coronet. Following the race, N Callan, who was dislodged from PERFECT TO PLAY, was examined by the Chief Medical Officer and passed fit to fulfil his remaining riding engagements as was C Schofield who dismounted from MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR in the barriers.
ENORMOUS HONOUR began only fairly.
GOLDEN KID shifted out abruptly at the start, resulting in VIRTUS STAR being crowded for room inside WINWIN RUBY which shifted in after being bumped by DRAGON REGIMENT.
From the outside barriers, ALL YOU KNOW and PLAY WISE were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
When the tempo of the race slackened passing the 1000 Metres, ENORMOUS HONOUR commenced to prove difficult to settle and was steadied away from the heels of GOLDEN KID. At the same stage, VIRTUS STAR shifted out away from behind WINWIN RUBY and was allowed to improve its position towards the lead.
Near the 650 Metres, TEN FLAMES was bumped and taken wider by WINWIN RUBY which shifted to the outside of MULTIGOGO which came under pressure.
Near the 450 Metres, VIRTUS STAR was momentarily awkwardly placed inside the heels of TEN FLAMES as that horse improved to its outside.
Approaching and passing the 400 Metres, CHARITY WINGS was awkwardly placed close to the heels of VIRTUS STAR when held up behind that horse.
Passing the 250 Metres, ALL YOU KNOW commenced to lay out under pressure, resulting in its rider changing his whip over into his left hand passing the 150 Metres.
A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN KID immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
PLAY WISE, CHARITY WINGS and ALL YOU KNOW were sent for sampling.
