Racing Incident Report
SUPER GIANT shifted out at the start and bumped the hindquarters of GREAT TREASURE.
When being steadied to be shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier, SUPER HERO was directed away from the heels of BEAUTY SPIRIT on jumping when that horse was taken out by CORDYCEPS.
From the outside barrier, HOME RUN was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 1300 Metres, NOT USUAL TALENT got its head up and became badly unbalanced when bumped by SMART PATCH which shifted out marginally.
After the 1100 Metres, EVER LAUGH was left racing wide and without cover.
Passing the 1000 Metres, SMART PATCH and NOT USUAL TALENT raced tight.
After the 500 Metres, EARTH TRILOGY got its head up when very awkwardly placed behind WITNESS HUNTER. EARTH TRILOGY was then shifted out to obtain clear running in the early part of the Straight and after the 400 Metres was shifted to the inside of WITNESS HUNTER to continue improving. Then near the 200 Metres, EARTH TRILOGY was checked when disappointed for running inside CORDYCEPS.
Near the 150 Metres, EVER LAUGH was awkwardly placed outside the heels of BEAUTY SPIRIT which shifted out under pressure.
Close to the finishing line, CORDYCEPS got its head on the side and lay out towards WITNESS HUNTER and consequently was not able to be fully ridden out all the way to the end of the race.
A veterinary inspection of XIANG BAI QI and CORDYCEPS immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CORDYCEPS, UNICRON JEWELLERY and NOT USUAL TALENT were sent for sampling.
