Racing Incident Report

As the start was effected, BULLISH GLORY reared and consequently lost a significant amount of ground. Before being allowed to race again, BULLISH GLORY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a stalls test.
FAMILY LEADER shifted out at the start and bumped CROWN AVENUE which was crowded for room inside HOLY UNICORN which began awkwardly and shifted in. In this incident, FAMILY LEADER became unbalanced and shifted in, resulting in KING’S MAN being inconvenienced after travelling a short distance outside FORTUNE PATROL which also shifted out.
ENJOYABLE SUCCESS began only fairly.
From wide barriers, SANGRIA and HAPPY ROCKY were shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
H T Mo (HOLY UNICORN) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 2100 Metres and again near the 1900 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of CROWN AVENUE, causing that horse to be hampered and taken in onto FAMILY LEADER which was also hampered and forced onto FORTUNE PATROL which was hampered near the 2100 Metres and lost its rightful running near the 1900 Metres. H T Mo was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Wednesday, 5 June 2019 and to expire on Monday, 17 June 2019 on which day he may resume race riding (4 Hong Kong racedays). In addition, H T Mo was fined $20,000.
HOLY UNICORN lost its left front plate after the 2100 Metres.
Near the 1700 Metres, THE JOY OF GIVING (J Moreira) improved into tight running as KING’S MAN made the turn awkwardly. KING’S MAN then shifted in, resulting in THE JOY OF GIVING being taken in onto ENJOYABLE SUCCESS which was hampered. J Moreira was advised to exercise more care when improving into positions in circumstances where it is highly likely that horses are going to resume their positions in the normal course of the race.
Near the 1050 Metres, KING’S MAN was taken wider and without cover when bumped by FORTUNE PATROL which shifted out away from the heels of FAMILY LEADER. After this, KING’S MAN continued to race wide and without cover.
In the early part of the Straight, FORTUNE PATROL lay in and was reluctant to shift to the outside of CLEMENT LEGEND.
Passing the 100 Metres, BULLISH GLORY was awkwardly placed outside the heels of SANGRIA which shifted out under pressure.
Approaching the 50 Metres, CROWN AVENUE raced tight inside CLEMENT LEGEND which lay in under pressure.
Whilst the Stewards were comfortably satisfied that the riding out of N Callan (SANGRIA), 6th placegetter, did not affect the horse’s finishing position, nonetheless he was reprimanded and told to ensure that he rides his mounts out all the way to the end of the race wherever appropriate circumstances permit.
A veterinary inspection of HAPPY ROCKY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings, however, the horse was unable to be scoped due to being fractious.
A veterinary inspection of SANGRIA immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
CLEMENT LEGEND and CROWN AVENUE were sent for sampling.
