Racing Incident Report

STAR PERFORMANCE and UNICORNBABY began awkwardly.
CRAIG’S STAR began only fairly.
From wide barriers, MONGOLIAN LEGEND and WAR ROOM were steadied and shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the turn near the 900 Metres, GOLDEN SIXTY commenced to prove difficult to settle and shifted out away from the heels of HAPPY FORCE, resulting in GOLDEN SIXTY and BEAUTY SPARK racing tight for a short distance as BEAUTY SPARK maintained its position outside GOLDEN SIXTY.
After the 700 Metres, MONGOLIAN LEGEND raced tight inside COOL TEAM which lay in.
After the 600 Metres, COOL TEAM was awkwardly placed behind CRAIG’S STAR.
BEAUTY SPARK made the Home Turn awkwardly and after shifting out then shifted back in, resulting in UNICORNBABY being directed out away from the heels of BEAUTY SPARK. After this, BEAUTY SPARK gave ground.
Rounding the Home Turn, MONGOLIAN LEGEND raced close to the heels of STAR PERFORMANCE.
Approaching the 200 Metres, C Schofield (GUY DRAGON) momentarily dropped his left rein.
Passing the 200 Metres, the whip of A Sanna (UNICORNBABY) was knocked from his grasp by the whip of A Domeyer (HELLO BEAUTY).
Near the 75 Metres, GOLDEN SIXTY was bumped by STAR PERFORMANCE which shifted out away from MONGOLIAN LEGEND as that horse improved into tight running between STAR PERFORMANCE and HAPPY FORCE. GOLDEN SIXTY then raced tight outside STAR PERFORMANCE for a short distance.
Throughout the race, WON WON TOO travelled wide and without cover.
When questioned, C Y Ho stated that GOLDEN SIXTY began very well in today’s race and then would not settle in the early stages as he had hoped. He said in its previous starts the horse had not begun as well as it did today but was relaxed which had allowed it to finish off its races. He said GOLDEN SIXTY travelled too keenly today and because of this was not able to finish off the race as well as it had previously. He said although GOLDEN SIXTY was crowded for room near the 75 Metres, the horse at this time was already beaten and did not cost it too much ground. He added he believed GOLDEN SIXTY, which was racing over 1400 Metres for the first time, would be able to race well over this distance in the future, however, the horse would need to relax better than it did in today’s race. A veterinary inspection of GOLDEN SIXTY immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GOLDEN SIXTY, STAR PERFORMANCE and MONGOLIAN LEGEND were sent for sampling.
