Racing Incident Report
COBY OPPA was withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever). Before being allowed to race again, COBY OPPA will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
MR GENUINE shifted out at the start and bumped SILVER FIG.
Shortly after the start, MEGA HEART raced in restricted room between ALCARI and JOYFUL MOMENTS.
From wide barriers, MOMENTUM GALAXY, YOUNG LEGEND and JOYFUL MOMENTS were all steadied in the early stages and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
Making the first turn near the 700 Metres, YOUNG LEGEND commenced to travel keenly and got its head up when being checked away from the heels of MEGA HEART and MOMENTUM GALAXY.
M F Poon (MR GENUINE) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that approaching the 300 Metres he permitted his mount to shift out when not clear of MASSIVE POCKET, causing that horse to be checked and to lose the running to which it was rightfully entitled. M F Poon was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Sunday, 15 September 2019 and to expire on Thursday, 19 September 2019 on which day he may resume race riding (2 Hong Kong racedays). In assessing penalty, the Stewards took into account Jockey Poon’s good race riding record.
Throughout the race, ALCARI travelled wide and without cover and in the Straight gave ground. The performance of ALCARI, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable. Before being allowed to race again, ALCARI will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination. A veterinary inspection of ALCARI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

WINNER SUPREME, SILVER FIG and UTOPIA LIFE were sent for sampling.
