Racing Incident Report

PRETTY BAUHINIA, which became fractious and sustained minor wounds to the right hock when travelling to Happy Valley, was examined by the Veterinary Officer who said that the horse was suitable to race.
AEROFLASH began awkwardly and then was bumped by ROYAL RACER which shifted out abruptly. This resulted in AEROFLASH losing ground.
From a wide barrier, BEST ALLIANCE was shifted across behind runners in the early stages to obtain cover.
After being shifted across behind runners from a wide barrier, AEROFLASH was ridden along in an endeavour to improve its position and approaching the winning post on the first occasion was steadied after being crowded for room inside PRETTY BAUHINIA (A Badel) which got its head on the side and lay in. A Badel was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances.
Passing the winning post on the first occasion, POLYMER LUCK shifted in and bumped the hindquarters of PRESIDENT STAR.
Near the 1300 Metres, SHINING ON was left racing wide and without cover and after the 800 Metres was allowed to improve its position to race outside the lead.
Approaching the 1200 Metres, ROYAL RACER was left racing very wide and was steadied to obtain cover behind SHINING ON. After the race, K Teetan reported that when ROYAL RACER was again left racing without cover at the 800 Metres, the horse immediately came under pressure and then gave ground. A veterinary inspection of ROYAL RACER immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Passing the 1200 Metres, RAZOR QUEST got its head up when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SAM’S LOVE.
Approaching the 800 Metres, RAZOR QUEST commenced to travel keenly and became unbalanced when awkwardly placed close to the heels of SAM’S LOVE.
After the 500 Metres, SAM’S LOVE raced tight outside ZHAN JIANG ROCKS which shifted out to improve.
Approaching the 200 Metres, IMPECCABLE FELLOW was bumped by BEST ALLIANCE which shifted out to obtain clear running outside PRESIDENT STAR.
Near the 50 Metres, PRESIDENT STAR was shifted out abruptly away from the heels of SHINING ON which was momentarily awkwardly placed behind POLYMER LUCK.
Over the concluding stages, BEST ALLIANCE, which was closing off the race strongly, raced tight inside BLASTOISE (R Moore) which shifted in under pressure. R Moore was reprimanded and advised that in similar circumstances he must stop riding and straighten his mounts.
A veterinary inspection of AEROFLASH immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
ZHAN JIANG ROCKS and BLASTOISE were sent for sampling.
