Racing Incident Report
CALIFORNIA ARCHER and SMART FOLKS bumped at the start.
SWIFT SPIRIT began only fairly.
BALTIC WHISPER began awkwardly and lost ground.
KURPANY shifted in at the start and bumped POISED TO STRIKE.
POISED TO STRIKE lost its right front plate in the early stages.
Passing the 900 Metres, ALCARI got its head up when awkwardly placed behind WON BALL.
Approaching the 700 Metres, WON BALL was momentarily crowded for room between CUE THE MUSIC which shifted in slightly and BALTIC WHISPER which got its head on the side and lay out. Then near the 650 Metres, WON BALL shifted in and was steadied away from the heels of BALTIC WHISPER which continued to lay out.
In the early and middle stages, KURPANY lay out and then after the 400 Metres hung in and proved difficult to ride.
After the race, A Hamelin stated that after lifting its front feet off the ground and being slow to begin, ALCARI did not travel well at any stage and he had to continually ride his mount along in an endeavour to have it improve its position. A veterinary inspection of ALCARI immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

GOOD VIEW CLARICO and WAR OF COURAGE were sent for sampling.
