Racing Incident Report

HAR HAR HEART was slow to begin.
LUCKY PUZZLE jumped out at the start and made contact with HAPPY ICHIBAN.
From the outside barrier, FEARLESS FIRE was steadied soon after the start and shifted across behind runners to obtain cover.
For some distance after leaving the winning post on the first occasion, BEST FOR YOU (K Teetan) travelled keenly and was restrained away from the heels of HAPPY ICHIBAN. After the race, K Teetan stated that the fact that BEST FOR YOU travelled so strongly throughout the early stages and refused to settle took its toll in the horse’s finishing effort with it not being able to close off the race. A veterinary inspection of BEST FOR YOU immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
At the 1300 Metres, DREAM WARRIORS was left racing wide and without cover. DREAM WARRIORS was then allowed to improve its position to shift in and race outside ANONYMA at the 800 Metres at which stage CHARITY WINGS was left racing wide and without cover.
Just prior to the finishing line, A Badel, the rider of the second placegetter, EVER LAUGH, had his whip knocked from his grasp by the whip of J Moreira (CHARITY WINGS).
N Callan, the rider of the 3rd placegetter, FAST PACE, was warned against the practice of using his whip forward of the saddle.
After the race, Z Purton stated that despite being ridden positively in the early stages, FAITHFUL TRINITY did not show sufficient speed to lead the race. He said FAITHFUL TRINITY did not travel comfortably throughout the middle stages and came under heavy pressure prior to the Home Turn. He said making the Home Turn FAITHFUL TRINITY lost its action and as he had concern for the horse’s welfare, he eased it down in the Straight. A veterinary inspection of FAITHFUL TRINITY immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm. Before being allowed to race again, FAITHFUL TRINITY will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
FAST PACE, CHARITY WINGS and EVER LAUGH were sent for sampling.
