2 1 BULLISH LUCK (CC155) G Mosse B Slowly away, ridden up to obtain closer position, raced midfield 3 wide 5Ls from lead, had cover thereafter, came 4 wide on turn and made strong run in straight only to be just collared.
3 8 HIGH INTELLIGENT (CD317) D Whyte -- Broke well, showed good gate speed to take up running early on, raced behind leader for mid-section and eased 2 wide on turn, sprinted well over final 200 M but overpowered by first two.
4 12 WEALTHY (CD164) O Doleuze SR Broke with them, taken back from awkward gate, settled 3rd last 3 wide 6Ls from pace, 4 wide from 700 M and came 6 wide on turn, made good ground in straight to make frame.
5 5 THE DUKE (CB282) D Beadman -- Slow to begin, mustered speed to take up position 4 back on fence 5Ls from front-runners, enjoyed run of race thereafter. Tried hard in straight but unable to match placegetters.
6 3 PERFECT PARTNER (CD163) F Coetzee TT Away well, contested early lead, eventually settled outside leader 2Ls off lead, came 3 wide on turn and battled it out for most of straight before overtaken late.
7 2 SCINTILLATION (CC228) S Dye H/TT Slow to begin, hard ridden to take up forward spot, settled 5th 2 wide with cover 4Ls from lead, over-raced in middle stages, held up early in straight but only battled away when clear.
8 4 TIBER (CD155) E Saint-Martin TT Jumped best, showed early speed to cross to rail, raced 3 back on fence 3Ls off lead thereafter, spent nothing to turn, gained split passing 250 M but lacked dash to make an impact.
9 11 GEM OF INDIA (CC008) A Delpech -- Away with them, settled just off pace midfield on rails, drifted back to 4th last 7Ls off front, followed paint in straight, tried hard but could only manage to hold ground.
10 7 TOWN OF FIONN (CD106) G Schofield -- Broke with field, ridden along in early stages, positioned midfield 2 wide 4Ls from front-runners, under pressure on turn, battled steadily to finish.
11 6 RIVER DANCER (CC109) C Munce -- Average to begin, taken back from awkward gate, settled last 2 wide 8ls from lead, travelled fairly throughout, couldn't make ground on them in straight.
12 9 SAMBUCA (CD189) B Prebble -- Away with them, rolled forward early, travelled 3 wide without cover 3Ls off lead throughout, pushed along from top of straight when 4 wide, condition gave out final 200 M.
13 10 SPECIAL KING PRAWN (CD212) R Fradd TT Away fairly, trapped wide and failed to settle so sent forward to take up lead, pace good thereafter, tackled approaching 350 M and gradually weakened out of it due to early effort.
14 13 CHEEKY (CA266) M Rodd -- Broke well, restrained from awkward gate, caught 3 and 4 wide without cover 4Ls from lead, rolled forward 5 wide on turn but had run took its roll and was unable to finish race off.
