7 10 GRAND COMMANDS (CD300) C K Tong SR Broke only fairly, mustered speed to be 1L away on stand side, pressured to make ground from midpoint, weakened badly late and faded out of it.
8 9 WORLD SERIES (CG121) D Dunn -- Average to jump, lacked early toe and drifted back to tail 8 to 10Ls away, always hard ridden in middle stages, made strong ground late to be closest at finish.
9 6 LUCKY STRAVINSKY (CE195) S Dye -- Bounded in air and lost ground at start, settled near rear 5Ls off leaders, niggled along at midpoint, still well back at 300 M, failed to show customary dash and kept same pace to line. (Mucopus.)

11 7 DR POSSI (CE288) C W Wong B1 Inconvenienced early, lost touch and settled in rearward spot 6Ls away, followed paint in mid section, kept going late passing some tired runners, never a real threat.
12 14 WINDICATOR (CG035) M W Leung -- Broke well, showed good early speed to challenge for lead early, kept up there until midway mark, hard ridden from that point, lost ground when they sprinted to be well beaten.
13 12 THE ELEGANT GREY (CG126) H W Lai -- Bumped on jumping, pushed along to hold midfield spot 3Ls off them, hard ridden from 400 M, continually hung in but unable to offer anything over concluding stages.
14 3 DREAM HORSE (CG029) F Coetzee TT Checked at start, ridden hard to hold midfield spot 3Ls from pace, never looked comfortable in run, weakened badly from 400 M point to be a long last (soft palate displacement and blood in trachea).
