1 3 BEAR MACHO (CG152) A Delpech -- Jumped well and took the early lead. Settled behind the pace after 1000 M and remained in a prominent spot behind the leader. Trapped for some distance after straightening but closed the race off strongly once finding daylight.
2 7 MONEY MAN (CG115) S Dye -- Better than midfield in early stages. Advanced to race alongside the leader at the bend. Responded well in the straight and took the lead at 200 M. Kept on well but failed to hold off winner closing stages.
3 6 INSPIRATION (CG111) E Saint-Martin -- Settled at midfield. Kept on steadily in the straight for a minor placing.
4 9 NORTHERN HERO (CG172) F Coetzee -- Soon in a rearward position. Checked and lost ground at 700 M. Trailed field into home straight. Quickened nicely but was caught in traffic for some time after 300 M. Continued to stride home well once finding clear run.
5 8 CHEEKY LAD (CG198) G Schofield -- Settled on fence at midfield. Checked at 800 M and lost ground. 3 to 4Ls off the leader on straightening and kept on fairly to the finish.
6 10 THUNDER FLASH (CG270) W M Lai -- Ridden along from a wide draw and took the lead at 1000 M. Held a length's advantage into home straight before being headed at 200 M. Steadily faded thereafter.
7 4 BUTTERFIELD (CG178) D Whyte -- Raced towards the back. 4Ls off the pace on straightening but lacked the needed rally.
8 2 DARE TO WIN (CG099) H K Yim B1 Jumped awkwardly and raced in rear section. Hampered and carried wider at 800 M. Improved to midfield but was widest making home turn. Only ran past tired runners in the straight.
9 5 HONG KONG LAD (CG221) B Prebble TT Settled at midfield before making ground after 800 M. 3-wide and a length down turning for home. Never picked up and weakened in the straight. (Roarer.)
10 1 UNIQUE SPEED (CG134) C Munce -- Lacked early speed and raced behind midfield. Hampered at 800 M and lost ground. Recovered to midfield at 600 M but was wide turning for home. Showed nothing in the straight.
