4 ABSOLUTE CHAMPION (CE060) B Prebble CP1 Even beginning, allowed to drift back and settle at rear, 2 wide 7 to 8Ls away in mid-section, appreciated speed in front and tracked nicely to turn, gained split at 300 M and powered through to grab lead and score strong win.
11 BRAINS TRUST (CE211) W C Marwing -- Broke with them, hard ridden to take up running, pressured throughout and ran them along at a good clip, still battling out lead on turn, stuck to task well in straight just tiring to be overhauled late.
5 SILVER SUN (CE126) W M Lai -- Away fairly, faded back to worse than midfield, on rails 7Ls away, spent nothing to turn, lacked a clear run early in straight, weaved between horses and finished well under hands and heels riding. (Mucus, see Racing Incidents.)
3 NOBLE CRUSADER (CD286) H W Lai TT Bounced out with rest, niggled along to hold prominent spot, raced behind leaders 3Ls away throughout, under pressure on turning to chase leaders, stuck to task well to make frame just couldn't find extra last 200 M. (Blood in trachea.)
7 ROYAL DELIGHT (CG192) Y T Cheng -- Began with line, unable to slot in from widest alley, forced to cover ground 3 wide in mid-section, 4 to 5Ls away with cover to turn, made a strong run on balanced up but could match them last bit after doing extra work.
2 SAN LORENZO (CC092) D Whyte -- Out with them, lacked early toe and drifted back to worse than midfield 6 to 7Ls away, enjoyed good trip 2 wide with cover, made up some good ground between horses in straight to be closest at finish without threatening. (Lost plate.)
8 LIBERAL'S KNIGHT (CE272) D Dunn -- Amongst first to begin, allowed to settle behind speed, raced midfield 5Ls away on rails, had easy run to turn, couldn't go with them when they dashed but stuck on evenly to make up some ground in latter stages.
10 TRIUMPHANT UNICORN (CD166) K L Chui -- Jumped with field, hard ridden to take up spot outside leader, proved difficult to settle and pressured leader throughout, still challenging with good speed set to turn, stuck there until 200 M but workload took toll late.
12 KINDACROSS (CG041) F Coetzee TT Jumped in air and lost valuable ground, detached from field early, always 10Ls away on rails, still at rear with job to do on turning, swung to outside and made up many lengths to be closest at finish. Solid effort.
6 ABLE CHOICE (CB126) C Munce B/TT Broke fairly, assumed position near rear of field on rails 8 to 9Ls away, didn't use much in middle stages, gave them a start on turning, lacked the sprint to be a factor just making steady ground to line.
9 CHATEAU KING PRAWN (CE180) E Saint-Martin B- Began well, unable to cross from awkward alley, posted 3 and 4 wide without cover throughout, always doing plenty of work to turn, under hard riding entering straight, made no impression when placed under pressure.
1 FIGURES (CC307) C W Wong SR-/B1 Bounced out with them, allowed to roll forward, raced 3 wide without cover in a prominent spot (good speed), had to work hard to hold position, began to feel pressure turning for home, weakened noticeably in straight to be well beaten.
