4 8 BIG KAHUNA (CG177) O Doleuze B Slow to begin and raced in midfield. Blundered at 1400 M but continued to be midfield. Quickened on straightening and steadily made up ground. Kept on fairly final stages despite being checked close to the line.

6 10 EVER KING (CE147) H W Lai V/TT Off slowly and raced 2-wide behind the pace. Raced 3-wide and 2Ls behind the leader making home turn. Kept on only fairly and unable to find extra to stay in contention final 200 M.
7 1 CENTENNIAL SMILE (CG165) A Delpech CP1 Raced behind midfield. Caught behind traffic at 300 M when making a rally. Made up some ground thereafter but unable to sustain the run final stages.
8 7 FLAMING SUN (CG164) F Coetzee B1/TT Crowded to the rear on jumping. Continued to be in a rearward position on straightening. Made up some ground in the early part of the straight but unable to sustain effort final stages.
9 2 MEATH (CE143) B Prebble SR/V Better than midfield but was wide and without cover. Pushed forward after 900 M and travelled alongside leader making home turn. Kept pace before weakening inside final 300 M.
10 12 SILVERBIRD (CB335) Y T Cheng CP/TT Raced 3-wide at midfield. Unable to quicken on straightening and weakened final stages.
11 6 EXPRESS MAIL (CG166) G Mosse H Led or disputed lead before settling behind the pace at 1000 M. Struggled to keep up turning for home and found nothing in the straight.
12 9 POWERKIE (CG185) A Starke -- Crowded to a rear position after the start and trailed field into home straight. Never quickened. (Lame morning after.)
