4 GREEN BIRDIE (CH245) S Dye -- Slowly away, soon at rear, tightened at 1000 M, raced on rails 8Ls away, appreciated fast pace, still well back on bend and pursued inside runs at 200 M, accelerated to gather them in with ease and score a facile win.
2 KING ENCOSTA (CG247) K L Chui TT Away with them, restrained for a midfield sit 4Ls off pace, enjoyed a nice trail in the 2-wide line on bend, 3Ls back in 5th turning, dashed hard down centre hitting lead at 100 M but beaten by a better horse.
6 YELLOW DIAMOND (CD246) H W Lai B Fastest out, took hold when unable to lead and raced on rails 2-3Ls back, had run of race with speed on, close enough swinging for home and eased into clear at 200 M, finished race off soundly.
5 FRIENDLY GAINS (CG300) D Whyte -- Away well, pressed on in search of front, did work to eventually take over, kept tempo even 1L clear, held a narrow advantage on turning, kicked hard and defied them to 100 M but run ended late.
1 LIBERAL'S KNIGHT (CE272) W M Lai -- Amongst first few to break, soon took hold to end up midfield on rails, had a quiet time 4Ls back appreciating speed, kept to fence saving ground turning, switched out and closed evenly just running out of condition last 100 M.
8 INSPIRATION (CG111) B Prebble XB Jumped nicely, up challenging for early lead, sat just behind pace horses but gradually moved up to be 1L back at outside leader, right there turning and made strong challenge until 50 m but run ended and couldn't match them.
12 CANNONISE (CD377) C W Wong TT Showed pace from outset, held early lead before handing up by midpoint, had a good cart in on leaders back, 1-2Ls away turning, couldn't sprint again after early burn and hung in straight. Kept on without threatening.
11 WEI HAI INVINCIBLE (CH258) M Nunes SR1 Tardy into stride, regathered to sit behind midfield on the rails 6Ls off front runners, helped by tempo and spent little to turn, well down into straight but closed fairly between horses passing some tired runners to line.
7 NOBLE MAN (CC099) F Coetzee -- Moderate jump, drifted towards rear, forced to race 3-wide 6-7Ls from front, always working covering ground on circle, switched inside in straight and made ground to 1200 M but only battled from that point.
3 TCHAIKOVSKY (CE030) O Doleuze B Standard break, trapped wide and rolled forward to sit 3-4Ls back in 2-wide running line, 2Ls back in 4th turning, dropped whip and hung in straight, was a spent force by 200 M and did little thereafter.
9 WHATAFANTASY (CH267) A Delpech TT1 Unbalanced and lost ground at jump, soon in last few 7Ls off pace, raced 2-wide well back but not harmed by the tempo, came 3-wide on bend lacked another gear in straight and struggled last furlong.
10 EASY (CG095) Y T Cheng -- Bounced out fairly, restrained to sit behind midfield, raced 2-wide 5-6Ls back, didn't relax in mid-section, eased 3-wide on bend, lacked usual dash just plodding to line, weakening further late. (Blood in trachea.)
