3 8 LIAOBUQI (CE018) C K Tong H/TT Hard ridden to hold the rail and shared the lead at good pace, under pressure throughout, took breather from 800 M and shifted 2-wide, regained lead 300 M, hung on until 100 M when overhauled, kept finding to the line.
4 10 SOUTH BREEZE (CG241) S Dye -- Jumped well, eased steadily into midfield along the fence, 6-1/2Ls off the good pace, travelled nicely until 1000 M, made efforts to keep up with the tempo, blocked 4-2, made ground when clear but couldn't run them down.
5 9 MAN IN THE MIRROR (CH058) F Coetzee -- Failed to get cover in early stages, then was taken back to rear, 10Ls off the good pace, trapped 3-wide in major part of race and covered too much ground, checked 400 M, regained balanced and closed the race off strongly 200 M.
6 5 NASA PEARL (CC068) O Doleuze -- Eased towards the tail, more than 11Ls behind the good pace 2-wide, made ground late until 200 M, no threat to winner.
7 13 COURAGEOUSHEART (CD202) D Beadman B/TT Hard ridden early to occupy a position just better than midfield, 5-1/2Ls off the good pace 2-wide, made a move early from 500 M, swept forward 3-wide on straightening, closed off nicely until 100 M run ended.
8 4 INDUSTRIAL SUCCESS (CC317) C W Wong -- Pushed to obtain the box seat, 2-1/2Ls behind the good pace, swept forward 3-wide at home bend and made ground early from 600 M, ran on well in 2nd until 100 M emptied.
9 12 SEASONS KNACK (CC242) M Nunes -- Eased immediately after start to cross towards the rail at the rear, more than 11Ls off the good pace, picked up 300 M and kept making ground to the line, however out of fuel 100 M.
10 2 EYE WITNESS (CG027) K L Chui XB/TT Pushed early but lacked speed, soon took cover worse than midfield, 8-1/2Ls off the good pace 2-wide, had every chance at top of straight but dashed only fairly.
11 1 SIR LAGO (CH268) A Delpech -- Eased back and soon took rail, 9-1/2Ls behind the good tempo travelled nicely throughout, but only ran on fairly in final stages, very one-paced.
12 3 LUCKY MONEY (CE159) Y T Cheng -- Hard ridden to share the lead 2-wide at good pace, under pressure in major part of race, took rail and dominated briefly from 800 M, held ground until 250 M weakened.
13 6 ON SHAN BRAVE (CH230) M W Leung B Slow away, eased back and raced along the fence, never better than midfield.
14 7 TACTIC KING (CG081) H W Lai B/TT Pushed forward, 3Ls off the good pace, trapped 4-wide throughout and lost too much ground at bends, dropped off quickly 500 M.
