2 12 RISING WIN (CC089) M W Leung SR Away on line, faded back to midfield, raced 3 to 4Ls back on fence in rest of field, had a reasonable run with tearaway leader, eased out leaving bend, fought battle to 100 M but out paced late.
3 3 LIGHTNING SPEED (CG263) D Whyte CP-/B1 Jumped fairly, kicked up to hold spot towards front of trailing group, travelled well in mid-section, 3Ls down on turning, no clear run until 150 M and flashed home late when race was over.
4 2 TOUCH DOWN (CB013) P H Lo B Away evenly but lacked speed to take a spot, raced near to rear 6Ls back in 2 wide line, came 3 wide passing rock, came widest in straight and made good ground down centre of track to be nearest on line.
5 8 LORD CAIRNS (CE127) C W Wong B/XB Showed pace to lead, went out 6Ls in front at a fast speed, came back to them passing rock, 1L clear leaving bend, couldn't sustain effort last 150 M.
6 10 DANZIGMOUNTAIN (CG139) Z Purton B/TT Moderate jump and lacked early initiative, ended up well back racing 2 wide 5Ls away in main group, helped by pace up front, switched 3 wide turning, made some progress without threatening.
7 5 PURPLE GOLD (CD249) B Prebble B/SR Broke well enough, pressed on but posted 3 wide midfield 4Ls back in main group, covered ground and did work to bend, kept on to 150 M but just battled away late.
8 7 RAMPANT LION (CH068) O Doleuze B-/V1 Away reasonably but elected to take a trail behind pace, 4Ls back on fence passing rock. trailed well turning and made some ground to 150 M but flat thereafter. (See Racing Incidents.)
9 11 FRAMES DEPOT (CG118) W M Lai B Began well, took a spot on back of leader but forced to cart field up at a solid pace, closed to be right there turning, couldn't dash again and weakened out in run to line.
10 9 SINOSPIEL (CG003) A Delpech B Taken back from outset, raced at tail 7Ls behind 2nd horse, and well off tearaway leader, still well back to bend, passed only tiring runners in straight.
11 1 GLORIOUS RHYTHM (CC163) D Beadman V Began well, pushed on but unable to slot in, raced 3 wide without cover 2Ls off 2nd horse, did share of work with tearaway leader setting fast pace, capitulated badly in straight.
12 6 NOBLE ZOOM (CC298) G Mosse -- Showed customary speed to race first without cover, didn't have an easy time pursuing breakaway leader, struggling on bend, dropped out easily last furlong.
