2 6 FOREST FOUNTAIN (CJ047) Y T Cheng TT1 Standard break, drifted back towards tail, raced greenly 8Ls back in running line, helped by reasonable speed, still well back on turning, took a while to balance up however put it together last 200 M doing best work late.
3 4 SPARE A DIME (CH155) D Whyte -- Fairly away, taken back from a wide alley, raced 6 or more lengths away in 2 wide line, suited by speed, into clear running turning and looked a threat but just produced a one paced finish final furlong. Needs further.
4 3 BLISS STAR (CE311) B Prebble TT Began well, pressed on in search of front, held lead nearly 1 length clear but couldn't find rail, kept pressure on throughout, held advantage turning and led to 200 M, couldn't keep up effort and overhauled last furlong.
5 13 SIMPLY JOY (CH052) S Dye -- Even jump, assumed a midfield role 4 to 5Ls back on rails, enjoyed a soft trip, moved 2 wide on circle, in between horses turning, clear last 300 M but only turned in a one paced effort.
6 10 ACTIVE VALOUR (CG045) H W Lai V Out well, pressed on to take a prominent spot 1 out 2 back 3 to 4Ls away, came 3 wide on bend and made progress to get within a length at 200 M, couldn't dash again and just kept on steadily.
7 2 MAGI JOY (CH056) E Saint-Martin B Began with first few, raced 3Ls back on fence, had run of race on back of speed, not asked in mid-section, kept to fence turning in, into clear running shortly after but only battled at same speed.
8 11 NIGHT HUNTER III (CH102) M Nunes -- Slow to begin, ended up behind midfield on rails 6Ls or more from front, suited by speed on, made some steady progress to 200 M but only held ground thereafter.
9 8 TELEWIN (CJ010) K L Chui TT1 Began with them, took up spot in midfield 3 wide with cover 5Ls back, did share of work in run, didn't respond in straight and just kept on at same speed racing greenly.
10 1 OWNERS LAD (CG273) D Beadman B Out in line, slotted in to midfield spot 2 wide 5Ls back, suited in run, angled clear on turning in, found little last 300 M, struggling late. (Blood in trachea.)
11 12 SILLY BOY (CC094) K T Yeung B/TT Showed plenty of pace to lead them early, held rails but pressured throughout by outside horse, 1L back on inside on turning, no dash at business end and folded tamely.
12 14 SPRING SMILES (CG269) C W Wong B Began awkwardly and lost ground when checked, raced well back at rear 10Ls from speed, never really in it and set a big task from bend, only passed tired runners in straight.
13 5 VICTORY START (CG216) W M Lai TT Began awkwardly, ended up racing 3 wide behind midfield 6Ls back, never nearer on bend, found nothing when asked and lost touch in straight.
14 9 GREAT HERO (CH016) C K Tong B Began well, pressed on from a wide gate to be 3 wide without cover for first half, slipped in 2 wide 2 to 3Ls back on bend, under pressure on turning, soon weakened and gave in easily when run took toll.
