2 12 JADE CHINA (CG113) M W Leung B/H Travelled in 2nd last position on the fence. Was steadied & shifted out early in the straight, closed off strongly.
3 8 SOMETHING SPECIAL (CJ014) K T Yeung SR Slow to begin & raced near the rear of the field, 1 off with cover. Came wide turning for home & ran on well to be right there in finish.
4 4 SPIRIT OF LO PAN (CH140) D Whyte B Stalked the leader along the fence. Was held up until the 300 M, and once in the clear stayed on soundly.
5 6 ROCKET AND GOLD (CH015) B Prebble SR Settled behind midfield and by the 800 M, raced 3 deep with cover. Kept to the inside in the straight and finished off fairly.
6 13 CHINSOLA (CD328) H W Lai -- Pressured early and raced at the leaders girth. No petrol left inside the furlong.
7 9 ACCELERATOR (CG179) Y T Cheng XB Travelled midfield on the fence. Remained racing to the inside in the run home and made little impression at the business end.
8 3 VINCERE (CE324) D Beadman CP Enjoyed a nice run behind the speed, 2 deep with cover. Weak the last 200 M.
9 2 RED WINE HONEY (CE287) S K Sit B Raced in last position after being slow to begin. Made run widest in the straight and commenced to run on but levelled out on its run over the concluding stages.
10 5 TRIUMPH (CC214) C W Wong V Faded from the 250 M, after leading along the rail.
11 10 SAMMY'S FORTUNE (CH204) G Boss B1 Positioned on the fence behind midfield. Tired sharply passing the 300 M whilst reaming to the inside.
12 11 KINGSTON TEMPLE (CH234) O Doleuze B Raced midfield 2 to 3-wide with cover, went forward after the 800 M, remained with cover. Struggled in the run home.
13 7 SUPER IDEAL (CC223) Z Purton TT Raced 2-wide early then went forward when the pace slackened near the 900 M. Was then forced out to race 4-wide without cover from that point on and dropped out noticeably over the final stages. (See Racing Incident - Epiglothic Enlapment.)
