1 7 GRAND STORE (CH087) O Doleuze -- Began fairly, ended up 7-8Ls back near to last racing 2-wide, suited by pace up front, gradually improved on bend, switch 3-wide nearing turn, descended quickly to finish over the top of rivals late to score a big win.
2 5 BLUE GENES (CG055) G Boss B/TT Began reasonably however drifted back to race 5-6Ls away in running line, aided by solid speed, still well back turning, made many lengths down middle to hit lead at 100 M, collared late by fast finishing rival.
3 3 ISLAND SPEED (CG202) Y T Cheng B/TT Displayed customary pace to race to lead, set a solid tempo throughout with pressure from outside horse, still held a 1L advantage turning, kicked strongly to 100 M when run ended.
4 2 CONESTOGA (CE313) M W Leung -- Began in line, used some resources to cross to 1 out 1 back slot, angled onto rails 2Ls down on bend, tracked leader on turning, bumped when drifting in at 200 M, just held ground thereafter.
5 6 DIM SUM (CH226) D Whyte -- Fast into stride, took a trailling spot in midfield 5Ls back in running line, race run to suit, made ground between horses leaving circle, gradually progressed in straight to be nearest on line.
6 10 NIRVANA (CH270) C K Tong -- No pace from jump, mustered to take a spot 6Ls back on fence, aided by tempo in mid-section, saved ground on bend, switched out and made even progress to line without threatening. (Injured tendon morning after.)
7 4 BEAR MACHO (CG152) C Soumillon -- Lost ground on jumping, settled 9-10Ls back, advantaged by fast tempo in mid-section, saved ground on circling and kept to fence turning, made good progress to 200 M before being badly checked. Not fully tested thereafter.
8 12 CANNONISE (CD377) H W Lai B/TT Began well, elected for a trail and ended up with 1 out 1 back position 1-2Ls back, had a reasonable run on back of speed into clear on turning in, lacked a dash and faded out late.
9 8 SUPERIOR UNIT (CJ045) S K Sit -- No early pace and lost considerable ground when failed to muster, more than 12Ls back at tail, gave a big start on turning in, made good late progress passing some tiring runners. (See Racing Incidents.)
10 9 KINDACROSS (CG041) F Coetzee XB/TT Fast into stride, applied pressure to leader throughout ensuring a fast tempo, continued to shade leader on circle, unable to sustain effort turning in and dropped out quickly. (See Racing Incidents.)
11 1 ADAIKALI (CE181) G Mosse CP/TT- Showed usual pace to challenge for front, forced to face breeze 3-wide without cover 1-2Ls back, struggling on bend, dropped out when hard run took toll to be well beaten.
12 11 BULB KING (CD303) W M Lai -- Out in line, assumed a midfield position 4Ls back on rails, had a soft run in mid-section, found little when asked on straightening and weakened tamely. (See Racing Incidents.) (Not comfortable.)
