10 BRILLIANT CHAPTER (CJ100) D Whyte -- Even break, settled patiently towards the rear 5Ls behind leader, taken wide on straightening, made ground in fine style under hands and heels riding, drew clear inside 200 M to win with real authority.
2 ONE WORLD (CH133) D Beadman H/TT Jumped well, drifted back to a position behind midfield 4Ls back, switched to outside on straightening, took time to muster but finished off very well inside 200 M. The winner was however too strong.
8 ROYAL PERICLES (CH050) W M Lai B/XB Standard jump, ridden to maintain a midfield position 2Ls off the pace, responded well under pressure and was just outran by the 2nd over the concluding stages.
7 ISLAND SUPER (CH297) H W Lai -- Restrained from gate, ended up in rear 7Ls away, used little in running, made a strong dash down the outside of track to finish a non-threatening 4th.
4 FLEET COMMAND (CK077) Z Purton -- Away in line, assumed a spot in mid-division racing 2 deep, difficult to settle in middle stages, held up on straightening and unable to imporve, made some progress once into clear 150 M out.
13 STREET CAT (CK037) C K Tong -- Bounced out, positioned just behind leaders, right there on turning, didn't find the extra gear required but rallied well final 200 M.
11 DOUBLE LUCK (CH239) G Mosse -- Pushed forward from the outside barrier, close enough in 3rd but raced wide without cover, ridden 300 M out and responded OK, but gradually weakened inside 200 M.
9 DEFERENTIAL (CH328) O Doleuze PC1/TT Lacked early speed, ridden along the rail to be prominent behind leaders, briefly held up on straightening, squeezed through a gap inside 200 M, ran on but found no extra.
6 FLORAL EL CUENTO (CJ241) F Coetzee TT Dropped back to the rear after start, trailed leader by more than 8Ls, had much to do on straightening, made some late progress but set too great a task.
14 BOOMING CITY (CE325) Y T Cheng B/TT Out with first few, rolled forward to lead and shaded inside horse throughout, kept on effort early in straight but fizzled out inside 150 M.
3 ISLAND SPEED (CG202) C W Wong B/TT Ordinary jump, ridden to maintain a midfield position, ran wide and without cover on turning, under pressure coming out of the bend, unable to quicken up and ran home very one-paced.
12 MEDIC FORTUNE (CK057) M Du Plessis -- Standard break, restrained to race in the rear 5Ls off the pace, ran a shade too keen in middle stages, met traffic inside 300 M and never able to obtain clear running. Not fully tested.
1 NORMAN INVADER (CJ231) K L Chui TT Slow into stride, urged to stay closer in mid-division, had every chance on straightening but didn't pick up, weakened inside 200 M.
5 BUNDLE O' GOLD (CJ311) E Saint-Martin XB Began well, gradually moved up along the rail to share lead under a steady tempo, kicked on inside 300 M but found nothing under pressure, dropped off 100 M out.
