5 2 KINGS FALCON (CJ185) D Beadman H Began with others. Settled in forward of midfield on rails within 4Ls of pace. Saved ground on inside turning in. Soon came to challenge and hit front about 300 M out only to be caught over 100 M out when found no extra.
6 10 GALLANT CHAMPION (CJ002) B Prebble CP-/V1/TT2 Settled in rail behind midfield after beginning from the one draw. Similar turning in. Shaken up upon straightening and raced tightly along rails until after 200 M. Made good late impression.
7 6 THUMBS UP (CK005) Z Purton -- Settled in last few. Badly baulked for a run early in straight and forced to check 200 M out. Recovered well late.

9 11 INTERCHINA STAR (CJ226) C Brown CP Held up in forward of midfield in 4L 5th or 6th. Making ground when forced to steady 200 M out. Produced late impression in closing stages. Tightened close to line.
10 8 LU YUE (CH278) C W Wong H Ridden along for early pace, gaining half a length advantage outside 2nd. Handed up lead approaching home bend but remained outside leader. Hung out turning in and gave ground gradually.

13 9 VIGOR DELIGHT (CK070) O Doleuze -- Began fairly in midfield. Soon pulled forward to join leader, taking over rounding home bend. Had 1L advantage straightening but gradually weakened under pressure. (Tactic questioned.)
