2 HAPPY GO LUCKY (CH127) P H Lo TT Always close-up, trailed the leader on rails at 1000 M, 2Ls back in 3rd turning in, kept on well to lead on the line.
11 LUCKY TYCOON (CH318) Z Purton B Held the 'one-out-one-back' position in 4th no worse than 3Ls from the pace until final bend, led about 150 M out but headed on the line.
1 DASHING THUNDER (CD080) W C Marwing CP 3-wide no cover in rear at first, pressed on out 3-wide no cover from halfway, 1L down in 4th at the 200 M, kept on well, only just failed.
9 ROYAL PORTRAIT (CJ092) H W Lai -- 2-wide in 8th or so between 4Ls and 5Ls from the pace through to home straight, made some moderate late ground for 4th but never likely to place.
12 SIR LAGO (CH268) M W Leung B Slowest out again, last and between 6Ls and 8Ls of the lead until straightening for home, made some decent late ground, never nearer.
6 MULTI MILLIONS (CD207) D Whyte SR 2-wide and 4Ls off pace at halfway, 5Ls back in 7th swinging for home, one-paced to conclude.
8 BULB TREASURE (CH048) W M Lai -- Disputed early pace out 3-wide no cover, less than 1L back in 2nd from 800 M to final turn, steadily petered out.
4 SUPER SURPRISE (CH210) J Lloyd B One from rear and keen at the 1200 M, at least 6Ls off the pace from 800 M to final turn, recovered some minor late ground.
10 PEARL HALO (CJ023) K C Leung B-/BO1/TT Slowly away and taken back from wide gate, always rearward and at least 6Ls from the pace before last curve, offered little threat. (Tactic questioned.)
7 FLORAL IMAGE (CK027) Y T Cheng B1/TT Soon led by about a neck on the fence, 1L clear turning for home, headed before entering furlong and dropped away. (Epiglottic entrapment.)
3 OASIS DAVIS (CK138) M L Yeung SR Opted not to track the leader on the rail in favour of a 3-back position, 4Ls down in 5th turning in, found very little off the bridle. (Questioned for poor performance.)
5 BOLD CHAMPION (CG127) O Doleuze V 4-back the rails in 8th or so about 5Ls from the pace through to final quarter, fizzled out tamely in homestretch. (Blood in trachea.)
