4 7 GLOBAL FAME (M335) D Beadman TT Made its run from behind midfield, 1 off with cover. Peeled out early in the straight and closed off soundly to reach the frame.
5 3 SURFER BOY (L306) C W Wong B Sent forward and led along the rails. Opened up a break after the 800m and was able to dictate. Hung out on the home turn and early in the straight, gave way inside the last 100m.
6 12 TELECOM TOP STAR (L276) M L Yeung B Couldn't go the early speed of the race despite being ridden along, settling last, some distance from the field. Was under pressure before the home turn and made good ground along the inside in the final stretch.
7 2 SMART TOUCH (L402) B Prebble CP-/B1/TT1 Settled close to the speed, 1 off without cover. Maintained a reasonable gallop down the running before fading inside the 100m.
8 9 MEGA CHAMPION (M149) D Whyte TT Camped 1 off with cover, midfield. Lost its position when crowded for room near the 600m, kept on only one paced in the home straight.
9 11 EN MASSE (L398) G Mosse SR Slow to begin travelling close to midfield, 3 deep with cover. Just plugged away in the home straight.
10 10 F S WINNER (M419) J Lloyd H Hampered at the start and settled at the rear of the field 1 off with cover. Passed tiring runners over the concluding stages.
11 8 SUGAR PEGASUS (N029) B Doyle -- Settled just behind the speed but was posted 3 wide without cover. Never looked likely.
12 4 RIDE ON THE FIRE (M137) M Guyon TT Settled near the backmakers 2-3 wide with cover after being taken back from a wide gate. Came widest on the home turn but failed to close off.
