2 1 CONFUCIUS DAY (C272) K H Chan B/TT Ridden forward after start, assumed lead, crossed to rail by the 900m. Raced two lengths clear on cornering & continued to hold lead until being passed inside the last 100m. Held second closing stages.
3 4 CASA DE FORCA (C289) M Chadwick CP Improved to midfield after first turn when racing 4 wide without cover in middle stages. Continued to cover extra ground approaching the corner, improved to 3rd at the 225m & battled on strongly in last furlong.
4 12 THE ONE (B073) C Y Ho B Bumped & lost some ground at start before settling worse than midfield on rail. Travelled strongly before being momentarily held up near 400m, cornered rearward before finishing off strongly in last 250m to be just behind third.
5 6 CEREFINO (A398) Z Purton B-/TT Steadied from widest gate to race second last away from rail. Moved wider entering the final section when nearly 7 lengths from lead, before making good late headway in final 200m to not be far behind.
6 11 SHINING ON (A359) H N Wong -- Hampered after start before shifting back to last. Continued at the rear, 7 lengths from lead entering last section. Moved the widest runner after straightening & made solid late ground from rearward position. Not beaten far.
7 2 FANTASTIC FABIO (V364) K Teetan -- Began fast before being crossed & racing on leaders back from the 900m. Three lengths from lead entering the final section before yielding a further 2 lengths in the straight. No threat.
8 7 NOBLE MAN (C412) J Moreira -- Began well, crossed after start before racing in midfield between runners. Came under pressure approaching the 400m before yielding a further length in straight. Never threatened.
9 9 DRAGON BOLT (D077) L Hewitson B Hampered slightly after start, shifted back to third from last. Over 5 lengths from lead entering the final section & made no further improvement in the straight.
10 8 CHUNGHWA JINGSHEN (D148) T H So -- Pushed to midfield, racing wide, before being left wide without after improving to 4th by the 800m. Momentarily shared second placing on straightening before weakening out in final 250m. Well beaten.
11 3 JOLLY CONVERGENCE (V293) N Callan CP Crossed after first bend, held midfield position on rail throughout early & middle stages. Continued on inside on cornering, awkwardly placed nearing the 200m but had limited response thereafter. Well beaten.
12 10 E GENERATION (C322) A Badel XB1 Improved after the start, moving to second, away from rail by the 850m. Niggled along before straightening & gave significant ground in the straight to be long last.
