2 2 GLORIOUS SPECTRUM (C054) A Hamelin CP1 Not fast to begin but mustered speed to race in midfield. Travelled strongly on cornering before dashing through a gap at the 300m. Surged to narrow lead at 50m before being caught right on the wire for narrowest of defeats.
3 3 HAPPY FUN (B316) Z Purton B/TT Hard ridden after the start & assumed lead soon after beginning. Continued to hold narrow lead under hard ridding before being caught by first two passing the 50m. Close behind in third.
4 10 DAN CONTROL (C267) C Wong H-/XB Steadied after start & shifted across from outside barrier to settle rearward. Was a clear last on cornering, shifted to be the widest runner after straightening before finishing very strongly in final 250m for close up 4th.
5 4 KING OPIE (B034) V Borges V Drifted back before settling in midfield, four wide with cover throughout. Continued to cover extra ground, was the widest runner on cornering before making strong headway in final 300m to be beaten only a length on line.
6 1 GOOD STANDING (B105) C L Chau B-/XB-/TT2 Strode forward after start before being left wide & without cover outside the leading pair. Continued with a length of the lead until peaking in the concluding stages & yielding a length late after tough trip.
7 8 BEAUTY RUSH (C475) C Y Ho E Raced in midfield, three wide but with cover for majority of early & middle stages. Momentarily held up near the 400m when only 2L from the lead before finishing off evenly to midfield in concluding stages.
8 14 WILL POWER (D093) K Teetan XB Pushed forward to race on the leaders back. Continued to follow the leader on straightening, only 1.5L from lead entering last section before yielding a few lengths when offering little in the final 250m.
9 13 SUNNY BOY (A379) M L Yeung B/TT Strode to midfield but was left racing 4 wide without cover throughout. Continued not far from the lead at the 250m before emptying out soon after & weakening a few lengths in last furlong after very wide passage throughout.
10 6 TRANSCENDENT (D126) J Moreira TT Bumped after start before settling third last between runners. Awkwardly placed on cornering before being held for clear running until 300m. Shifted wider before finished off moderately in closing stages. (Mucus in trachea).
11 9 STYLING CITY (B280) K C Leung B/TT Showed speed after the start to race outside the leader in second position. Peaked on effort soon after entering the last section before weakening out in final furlong.
12 11 GREEN LUCK (B413) M F Poon -- Crowded at start before shifting behind runners to settle at rear. Continued near the rear on cornering before finishing off only moderately along the rail in the final stages. No threat.
13 7 WATER DIVINER (V356) M Chadwick B/H/TT Slow to begin, conceding over a length before mustering speed to improve to midfield on rail. Entered last section only 2.5L from lead before offering limited response & weakening out to last in concluding stages.
