2 12 PARTY GENIUS (D217) K Teetan CP/XB Bumped & badly unbalanced at start & consequently shifted back to last. Shifted down to rail 800m before cornering in second half, 5.5L from lead. Closed strongly last 250m, moved to second inside last 100m, beaten under 2L.
3 1 LUCKY QUALITY (D050) K H Chan -- Began well & obtained good position 1,1 early before drifting slightly further back to midfield near the 800m. Entered last section 3.5L from lead before finishing well to finish third, 2.5L behind impressive winner.
4 6 DURHAM STAR (E082) C Schofield -- Bumped & unbalanced & consequently settled just worse than midfield along rail. Moved away from rail approaching the 500m, entered last section 5L from lead before shifting wider & closing well in final stages.
5 5 DARCI JOY (E161) N Callan -- Fractious in barriers, began awkwardly, bumped & lost ground before racing worse than midfield in middle stages. Awkwardly placed 550m, cornered over 7L behind before finishing strongly to midfield when racing greenly.
6 9 TEAM GOODLUCK (E268) V Borges -- Raced in midfield between runners throughout. Shuffled further back mid-race before entering last section 6.5L from lead. Closed off well when making up a few lengths in closing stages to finish midfield.
7 3 BEAUTY CHEERS (D436) J Moreira E1 Ridden forward after the start before eventually settling 3 deep with cover just behind leading trio. Moved to second place when 2L from the lead soon after entering last section before emptying out at 200m & weakening late.
8 2 HONEST WAY (B200) C L Chau CP/TT Outpaced after start & drifted back to race worse than midfield, 4 wide early before 3 wide with cover after first bend. Cornered widest, 7L behind before passing a few tiring runners without closing margin. (Lame post-race).
9 4 CORDYCEPS ONE (E107) C Y Ho H Shifted across behind runners from wide gate & settled near the tail. Cornered a clear second last, 8.5L from the lead before passing a few runners late without making any headway into significant margin.
10 14 U W BROTHER (C389) C Wong B2 Bumped at start before mustering speed & improving position to race outside the leader from the 900m. Hard ridden approaching the corner before weakening badly in last section to be well beaten.
11 8 SUPER FLAMES (E299) M F Poon -- Raced in midfield on the rail throughout. Hard ridden prior to cornering, entered last section 4.5L from the lead before weakening out sharply in the concluding stages to be beaten a big margin.
12 7 LUCKY TREASURE (E012) K C Leung TT1 Bumped & raced very keenly when being steadied after the start. Checked & lost ground when racing erratically near 850m & was consequently relegated to last before weakening out further in straight. (Must trial, see report).
13 11 FIGURES TWO (D303) T Piccone -- Improved to midfield after moderate start before racing 3 wide without cover in middle stages. Drifted further back in middle section, straightened over 6L from lead before weakening poorly to long second last.
14 13 HOT CHILI PEPPER (D286) A Badel B/TT Raced wide in midfield early before hard ridden to improve position to be 3 deep without cover outside leader from 850m. Continued to apply pressure when racing wide before folding up & weakening to long last. (See report).
