8 6 FLASH FAMOUS (B162) S De Sousa B/TT Settled well behind from a wide gate, attempted to switch out for a run entering straight but soon baulked, obtained a run between runners over 250 metres out and finished off the race well.
9 13 FORTUNE TRIPLE (D274) L Hewitson -- Taken back to last from the widest gate, trailed the field to home straight, saved ground and snuck up to about 3L off pace turning in, kept on without threatening closing stages.
10 12 FORTUNE PATROL (A245) R Maia B/H/XB Settled in midfield, became 6th some 3L back when pace slackened at the 1300 metres, drifted further back in 8th over 4L back rounding home bend, did not find much room much of the way in the run to the line.
11 7 TURF BRILLIANT (C456) M Chadwick B Niggled at early, travelled 3-wide in midfield round first bend, carried backward 900 metres out dropping towards the rear, widest runner turning home, kept on under pressure before weakening inside final 100 metres.(Blood in trachea)
12 9 MISTER MONTE (A201) H T Mo B-/CP2 Broke well, crossed by race leader on top of first bend, travelled 2-wide in 2nd until the 1300 metres when became 3rd, kept on in straight until dropping out tamely inside final 250 metres.
13 5 YEE CHEONG BRAVE (E501) K C Leung TT Went forward to prominent 3-wide first bend, settled just over 2L back in 4th most of the way in back straight, drifted back to 5th some 3L back onto home bend, came under pressure but soon dropped out after straightening.
