Racing Incident Report
When the gates opened, GET IT EASY bounded in the air, turned its head sideways, bumped the outside of its gate, because of this the horse lost considerable ground. GOOD SPIRIT was slowly away. E Saint-Martin (SCENIC STAR) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding in that at about the 800 Metres he permitted his mount to shift in when not clear of GOOD SPIRIT. As a consequence of this, that horse lost the running to which it was rightfully entitled and was checked. After taking into account all the circumstances, the Stewards were of the view the appropriate penalty was for E Saint-Martin to be suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Sunday, 8 October 2000 on which day he may resume riding. The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the Happy Valley meeting on Wednesday, 27 September 2000. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, PRISTINE hung out. In the early part of the Straight, SEVEN GLORY was steadied and shifted out in an endeavour to find running between ACE ACADEMY and GOOD SPIRIT, was disappointed for this running, again was steadied and shifted to the outside of MONEY WINS to find running and go forward. Also in the early part of the Straight, TOYMARK shifted to the outside of PRISTINE which was hanging out to go forward. As a consequence of this, SCENIC STAR was taken out, this caused some crowding to HANDOVER. About the 300 Metres, LUCKY SIX was disappointed for running on the inside of GOLDEN CHOICE, LUCKY SIX was shifted out abruptly to find running and when shifting ground bumped RED AND GREEN which in turn shifted ground and made contact with PRISTINE. In the run to the winning post, TOYMARK had a tendency to lay in.
