Racing Incident Report

FIELD'S WINNER would not proceed to the Start with other runners. Permission was given for it to go to the gates in the reverse fashion. Before proceeding to the Start, GOOD TIMING had its off side hind plate refitted. When the gates opened, FIELD'S WINNER jumped very awkwardly and threw its head about and as a consequence lost a lot of ground. TIM'S TONIC jumped badly with its head up. On jumping, PRINCE TREASURE was severely checked when crowded between PROFIT MASTER and WINNING HURRAH which was taken out abruptly by GIVE TO THEE. The occurrence was accidental. No action was taken. Just after the 800 Metres, TIM'S TONIC got its head up and became unbalanced when being checked off the heels of GOOD TIMING. Near the 600 Metres, PROFIT MASTER and WINNING HURRAH came together when racing tight just inside GOOD FRIENDS. After the 600 Metres, TIM'S TONIC got its head up when being steadied from the heels of GOOD TIMING and shifted out abruptly across the heels of SALLIAN EXPRESS. As a consequence of this, inconvenience was caused to SINCERE AND FAITH. Approaching and rounding the Home Turn, SALLIAN EXPRESS hung out. In the Straight, SUPER FAST hung in, raced close to the running rail and proved difficult to ride out. Throughout the event, PRINCE TREASURE raced very greenly and proved difficult to ride. When questioned, W M Lai (MR MAGIC) said the horse jumped with its head up, was further inconvenienced when DANRIVA shifted out abruptly. He said MR MAGIC had a tendency to travel with its head up and in an awkward position throughout the race. He said in the early part of the Straight he initially considered shifting to the outside of DANRIVA to improve, but just after straightening shifted back to that horse's inside to try and find running. He said looking ahead he considered a run was not going to come, therefore after the 200 Metres he again shifted MR MAGIC towards the outside in an endeavour to find running. The explanations submitted by W M Lai on this occasion were recorded. SUPER FAST was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
