Racing Incident Report

The declaration of weighed-in was deferred as J Egan (LEAD TO WIN), 3rd placegetter, considered there may have been grounds for an objection against the second placegetter, GOLDEN BULLET. After he viewed all the available films, he considered on this occasion it was inappropriate to formally object and accordingly weighed-in was semaphored. About the 600 Metres, LEAD TO WIN was steadied when momentarily crowded by GOLDEN BULLET. SING SING SING missed the start slightly, was then severely checked when crowded between FUN MANAGER and OPTIC CHIEF which on leaving the gates shifted out abruptly. UNCONDITIONAL LOVE jumped awkwardly and threw its head about. Near the winning post the first time, RARE COLLECTION jumped an object on the track. K H Ting (MILLENNIUM LEGEND) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding. The careless riding being that near the winning post the first time, he allowed his mount to shift in at rather an acute angle when not clear of other runners. As a consequence of this, MILLENNIUM LEGEND bumped the shoulder of REALLY LUCKY which shifted in onto FUN MANAGER, this resulted in FUN MANAGER losing the running to which it was rightfully entitled and being checked severely. Inconvenience was also caused to OPTIC CHIEF. After considering all the circumstances, the Stewards decided in this case the appropriate penalty was that K H Ting be suspended from riding in races for a period to expire on Monday, 5 February 2001 on which day he may resume race riding. The commencement of the suspension was deferred until after the meeting at Sha Tin next Saturday, 20 January 2001. Near the 500 Metres, SUPER CONQUEROR was inconvenienced when LEAD TO WIN shifted to the outside of GOLDEN BULLET. About the 200 Metres, MILLENNIUM LEGEND was steadied when crowded for room by RARE COLLECTION (Apprentice Y T Cheng) which shifted in. Apprentice Y T Cheng was severely reprimanded and told he must exercise far more care. Over about the last 200 Metres, SING SING SING had trouble obtaining a clear run. LEAD TO WIN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
