Racing Incident Report

Prior to the race, JADE RUYI had an adjustment made to its near hind plate. The horse was examined by the Veterinary Surgeon and after consulting the horse's Trainer it was considered JADE RUYI was suitable to race. When the gates opened, GOLDEN BULLET stood flat-footed and lost considerable ground. PROSPEROUS DYNASTY knuckled at the start. PROFITEER began awkwardly. At the start, JADE RUYI bounded in the air and lost ground. Approaching the winning post the first time, JADE RUYI was steadied away from the heels of PROFITEER when racing tight inside DANCING SURPASS which was taken in by PROSPEROUS DYNASTY. In the early stages APPLIED SUPREME and MAGIC WIN proved difficult to settle. Apprentice Y T Cheng (SPEEDY CHAMPION) said he had been instructed to ride his horse in the lead, however, after establishing that position APPLIED SUPREME and MAGIC WIN improved on his outside and consequently SPEEDY CHAMPION would not settle. At the 1000 Metres, MAGIC WIN became unbalanced when crowded between SPEEDY CHAMPION which shifted out slightly and APPLIED SUPREME which shifted in when continuing to prove difficult to settle. At the 600 Metres, GRENADIER became unbalanced after bumping the running rail when momentarily crowded by NAZAKAT II. DANCING SURPASS and PROFITEER, which were following, were hampered in consequence. For some distance after this, DANCING SURPASS was awkward on the heels of FLORAL REGENT, then at about the 500 Metres shifted out, causing inconvenience to PROFITEER, RAINBOW SEEKER and GOLDEN BULLET, all of which were carried wider. DANCING SURPASS then continued to race close to the heels of FLORAL REGENT and tight inside PROSPEROUS DYNASTY and at the 400 Metres shifted to the inside of FLORAL REGENT to obtain clear running. On straightening, NAZAKAT II and APPLIED SUPREME bumped. Near the 200 Metres, MAGIC WIN, which was giving ground, was steadied after being bumped by NAZAKAT II which was carried in slightly by APPLIED SUPREME which shifted ground when hanging in. PROSPEROUS DYNASTY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
