Racing Incident Report

After being boxed, OPTICAL FAMILY became fractious and momentarily got down behind. PEGASUS STAR jumped very awkwardly and threw its head about. About the 1000 Metres, EXCEL KID became unbalanced when awkward on the hindquarters of OPTICAL FAMILY. About the 600 Metres, RACE TO HONOUR and OPTICAL FAMILY were crowded for room between CUPID and TAMBORA STAR which momentarily shifted in. Near the 200 Metres, Apprentice S K Sit (TAMBORA STAR) dropped hip whip, then in the run to the winning post the horse was eased down. Before racing again, TAMBORA STAR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. In the Straight, COMMON PLACE hung out. Also in the Straight, DIAMOND AND GOLD (D Harrison) shifted out, near the winning post made contact with DOLBRIDGE. D Harrison was told if in similar circumstances again he should stop riding and straighten. R Fradd (FRAME'S PEOPLE) said he had worked the horse on Monday morning and this work was in his opinion barely satisfactory. He said at no stage of the race did FRAME'S PEOPLE stretch out tonight and he was concerned with its action. The Veterinary Surgeon said when he examined FRAME'S PEOPLE after the race, he was unable to detect any apparent abnormality. The performance of FRAME'S PEOPLE was considered to be unacceptable. Before the horse can race again, it will have to perform satisfactorily in an official barrier trial and will be subjected to an official veterinary examination. FRAME'S PEOPLE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
