Racing Incident Report

GREENMORE jumped awkwardly with its head up, shifted out and bumped REBEL LEADER. In the early and middle stages, due mainly to the pace, EQUIKIT over-raced and at about the 1600 Metres shifted ground and bumped MASTER MAGIC. About the 700 Metres, GREENMORE got its head up and became unbalanced when awkward behind REBEL LEADER. Approaching the Home Turn, TELECOM CHIEF had a tendency to hang out. Near the 500 Metres, REBEL LEADER shifted out from behind GOOD FIT, made contact with TELECOM CHIEF and obliged that horse to race wider. E Legrix (PEACEFUL CENTURY) said the horse left the gates a little awkwardly, but this was no concern as he intended to get back. He pointed out before the race PEACEFUL CENTURY did appear to be sweating up a little more than normal and was more on the toe than it had been before its recent runs. He also said today was the first time he had ridden the horse over the 1800 Metres and at its last start when he was riding PEACEFUL CENTURY the horse was relaxed in the run, but tonight he had difficulty settling PEACEFUL CENTURY particularly in the middle stages when the pace seemed to steady. E Legrix went on to say he followed REBEL LEADER into the Straight, but that horse finished the race off much better than PEACEFUL CENTURY and the way PEACEFUL CENTURY found the line was tonight very disappointing. He did say PEACEFUL CENTURY may be better suited over slightly less ground and with more pace on. PEACEFUL CENTURY was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing. After the race, it was reported that PEACEFUL CENTURY was lame in its off side front leg. Before being allowed to race again, PEACEFUL CENTURY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
