Racing Incident Report

ELLEN'S WON was slowly away. ROUND THE WORLD left the gates awkwardly, then shifted out and was close to the hindquarters of PROFIT TREASURE. EXPLOSIVE POWER left the gates awkwardly, as a consequence F Coetzee was momentarily unbalanced in the saddle. Near the 800 Metres, HOLY WINE was steadied and shifted out when close to the heels of ROUND THE WORLD. About the 300 Metres, HOLY WINE was checked when disappointed for running between DARWIN and ROUND THE WORLD which shifted out slightly after being disappointed for running inside EXCEPTIONAL. Also about the 300 Metres, UNIVERSAL GLORY was momentarily awkward on the heels of CENTURY STAR which itself was close to the heels of EXPLOSIVE POWER. S King (EXCEPTIONAL) explained the horse raced very fresh today and proved difficult for him to settle. He said as a consequence of the horse pulling in the early stages he took up a forward position and was obliged to race wide without cover. He also said EXCEPTIONAL in the middle stages had a tendency to lay out and over the concluding stages dropped out due, in his opinion, to the manner in which the horse had raced which he said was the opposite of its usual pattern. EXCEPTIONAL and ROUND THE WORLD were sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
