Racing Incident Report

At approximately 8 pm, the Veterinary Surgeon noted TEKON PERFECT was scouring and in his opinion was not suitable to race. Accordingly TEKON PERFECT was withdrawn by order of the Stewards. FLYING BISHOP left the gates awkwardly. When the gates opened, DIVINE FEELING bounded in the air and just after the start was inconvenienced by MONEY which shifted out. About the 800 Metres, HIN YUEN'S UNICORN shifted away from the running rail to be in a position behind SUPER TEAM and inside MONEY (D Whyte). About the 600 Metres, MONEY shifted inside the heels of HANDBAG'S HONOUR to be behind SUPER TEAM and as a consequence of this HIN YUEN'S UNICORN finished in a position back on the rail. When HIN YUEN'S UNICORN shifted in, some inconvenience was caused to FLYING BISHOP and ETERNAL START which was following. In view of the evidence adduced during the inquiry, no direct action was taken. However, the Stewards did advise D Whyte they can accept tight riding, but there is a limit to which it can be taken. About the 400 Metres, AMERICAN WIN brushed the running rail. Just after the 200 Metres, GOOD TIME FOR ALL, which was giving ground, was steadied when crowded for room between HIN YUEN'S UNICORN and AMERICAN WIN which shifted in. T Culhane (ETERNAL START) said the horse, which was having its first run from a spell today, was clearly in need of a run and he had been instructed to ride the horse somewhere about the middle if possible. He said running to the first turn ETERNAL START when being restrained got its head up, shifted out and lost ground. He did go on to say as the horse improves in fitness, it may take up a more forward position. HIN YUEN'S UNICORN was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
