Racing Incident Report

On leaving the gates, LOMBARD threw its head about. In the early part of the Straight, FLYING MACHINE and AMERICAN WIN bumped. Over the concluding stages, DANHERO hung in very badly and proved difficult to ride out. About 100 Metres out, JAMIESON was steadied when tightened for room between THE MOST DAUNTLESS and DANHERO which was hanging in. H K Yim (GOLDEN PROMISE) said he had been riding the horse in the majority of its work over recent times, this work in his opinion was satisfactory and it was expected that GOLDEN PROMISE would run well today. He said he had to ride GOLDEN PROMISE along harder than he wished to maintain a forward position, then in the Straight the horse was very disappointing. The Stewards will allow Mr K C Lo, trainer of the horse, an opportunity of explaining the disappointing run and pending the interview with Mr Lo the entries of GOLDEN PROMISE will be refused. GOLDEN PROMISE was sent for clinical veterinary examination and routine testing.
